My role as a Make UK Manufacturing Champion will enable me to help drive forward Ribble Valley’s industry-leading businesses

We have a thriving manufacturing sector in this part of the UK, with industry-leading businesses selling their products around the world.
I’ve been lucky enough to visit some of them – BAE Systems and AB InBev in Samlesbury, Baxi UK in Bamber Bridge, Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses in Inglewhite and Massey Feeds in Walton-le-Dale, to name just a few.

It’s always a privilege to step behind the scenes to see the different ways these organisations are innovating and, in many cases, combining traditional skills with cutting-edge technology.

I’ve had some interesting conversations with employees and business leaders about the work they’re doing as well as the challenges their businesses face, and how I can help as their MP.

I’m delighted to share that I’ve become a Make UK Manufacturing Champion.
What that means is I’ll be speaking up even more to champion our manufacturing industry alongside other MPs from all parties.

I’m passionate about the UK having a strong manufacturing capability and I’m especially keen on supporting young people to be entrepreneurial so we see more businesses entering the sector.

I’m looking forward to getting started.
