Face-to-face service returns for customers as Longridge Banking Hub boosts town

A long-awaited service offering face-to-face banking is now officially open in Longridge.
I cut the ribbon to declare Longridge Banking Hub, on Berry Lane, officially open alongside new Banking Hub operator Heran Desai and wife Helna Desai.

It’s a beautiful building that now houses a Post Office counter along with a room for banking appointments, open Monday to Friday.

Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland have staff working from the hub on Mondays and Wednesdays, with Natwest staff available on Thursdays.

Popular
Cash Access UK, the organisation that opened the hub, now has 237 of these spaces across the UK, making it easier for people to deal with cash and access banking services and I know this will be really popular with the community in Longridge and surrounding areas.

I opened my first bank account as a teenager in Longridge and I know it’s important for people in this area to have access to cash and banking services local to them.

Boost
Cash Access told me that, from their experience, banking hubs encourage people to stay and shop in the high street, boosting other businesses.

It was lovely to join Heran and Helna, who will be running the hub in this beautiful building, for the official opening and to chat to representatives of the banks and customers who will be using it.
