Fly-tipping, floral displays and food waste collections were among the topics of conversation at my latest constituency coffee morning.
My team and I were in Lostock Hall, welcoming about 25 constituents to New Day Methodist Church for a brew and a chat about what matters to them.
It was the third of these events we’ve held and it’s been really interesting to hear the varied views of my broad constituency.
There was a lovely atmosphere and a real mix of ages and experiences, helping the conversations flow at each table.
What stood out to me was that people really do love living in Lostock Hall. There’s a lovely sense of community and residents who want to make a difference.
Following up
There were reports of fly-tipping in some of the ginnels, issues with drug-taking and discarded drugs paraphernalia and concerns over speeding and pedestrian crossings, all of which I’ll be following up with the relevant organisations.
Some people were also keen to see more flowers round the area too and it was great to be able to report that the Lostock Hall and Farington in Bloom group is on the case!
Thanks to South Ribble councillors David Bollenberg, Lesley Pritchard and Elaine Stringfellow for coming along to speak to residents. I’d urge anyone from Lostock Hall to give them a follow on Facebook to keep up to date with what’s going on in your area.
