Grassroots sport has the power to bring people together, creating a healthier nation and increasing opportunities for communities across the UK.
Ribble Valley is home to fantastic local sports clubs and facilities, so I’m really pleased to see that
- Chipping Football Club,
- Fulwood Amateur Association Football Club, and
- Walton Le Dale JFC
are all set to benefit from the government’s Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme, with the funding they receive providing new goal posts and fencing!
This government is also investing another £98 million in 2025/26, and with UEFA EURO 2028 on the horizon—co-hosted by the UK and Ireland—and our bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2035 taking shape, this government is keeping grassroots clubs and facilities front and centre. Delivery partners are now in the process of making decisions regarding 2025/26 funded projects.
